Behalve de traditionele vakken zoals filosofie,kloosterleer,Pali en godsdienst geschiedenis wordt nu ook engelse les gegeven. Naast traditionele strenge oefeningen zoals een 40 daagse retraite,moeten studenten ook in sociale en onderwijs projecten deelnemen.

The ancestors house from Phon Phisai is a private initiative. It is located on the canal from the Mekong to the water filtering station from Phon Phisai. Een rustige plek bij een particuliere kapel van een verkoper van verzekeringen.

The Abbot from temple Wat Thai in Phon Phisai put an ancestors altar near the entry from the giant "naga" or Mekong snake. De tempel trekt ook veel bezoekers,die aan de voorouders een goede toekomst willen vragen.

The Burmese street vendor told me that he is Muslim (in Buddhist Thailand). Hoewel er veel Birmese gastarbeiders zijn in Thailand zijn er weinig moslims onder hen. Vooral in Chinese fabrieken in Bangkok, werken Birmezen voor 150 euro pm.
